It’s a very widely accepted fact that Llandudno offers the absolute best Afternoon Teas in North Wales, and even with this considered, there’s one question that remains to even the most veteran Afternoon Tea enthusiasts. Where is the best place to get Afternoon Tea in Llandudno? It’s a tricky one, and one that can only be answered with extensive… research. Tasty, tasty research. Finding the perfect Afternoon Tea in Llandudno is a hard job... but someone’s got to do it.
We were fortunate enough to go onto an Afternoon Tea binge throughout Llandudno, visiting places small and large in order to get the best afternoon tea in Llandudno that we could. We judged the quality of our afternoon tea by a number of factors: namely the quantity and freshness of sandwiches, as well as anything which made said sandwiches stand out – such as home made bread or fillings. The appeal of the desserts were also judged, and also the selection of teas to hand.
We also kept our eyes peeled for any features with the Afternoon Tea that stood out from the crowd. This is special attention to particular themes, or presentation that you simply don’t see anywhere else. Finally, price was a consideration.
Very many sandwiches later, we managed to find a winner.
St Tudno Hotel in Llandudno 's North Parade (right by the pier!) met our expectations, and then some. With a great selection of sandwiches on offer, very many varieties of tea (we expected earl grey, lady grey and perhaps a few fruit teas) to hand (and staff knowledgeable about each and every kind of tea) St Tudno’s selection was absolutely gigantic.
Service was fast and friendly, and we were even invited to take our teas outside on their handsome patio, to watch the world go by. We enjoyed doing so, greatly, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that Llandudno’s famous seagulls didn’t bother us, at all, thanks to St Tudno’s parasols and fencing. Our sandwiches and scones were safe!
Speaking of sandwiches, the sandwiches on offer at the St Tudno Hotel were fresh, deeply filled with a variety of different ingredients (including St Tudno’s very own preserve – we even received some jars to take back to the office!), the scones absolutely delectable (and very tempting – alongside a variety of small but absolutely fantastic cakes) and at only £11.95 per person, this Afternoon Tea in Llandudno was an absolute steal.
