Below are our top 5 restaurants to visit in North Wales if you want to dine like a true Welshman:

1. Watsons Bistros
First up on our list is Watsons Bach based in the town of Conwy. This Bistro uses locally sourced ingredients to deliver traditional Welsh food with a modern twist while maintaining in an intimate Bistro setting. Everything at this gem of a restaurant is homemade from the bread right down to the ice creams and sorbets. Our top recommendations are the Slow Roast Shoulder of Welsh Lamb with punchmep and minted garlic and honey jus and the 24 hour cooked OX cheek with savoy cabbage, Dijon mustard mash and a rich port sauce. There are daily specials as well as a fantastic Sunday lunch menu. A fantastic choice if you are looking to dine like a local.

2. The Peak Restaurant
The Peak Restaurant is situated on the High Street in the village of Llanberis North Wales. The menu changes monthly and uses fresh, seasonal and local produce and much like the previous restaurant virtually the entire menu is made in house. The restaurant benefits from an open kitchen with a modern, yet relaxed and welcoming dining atmosphere. The Welsh Rib Eye Steak with Fluffy Mash is a must for any meat lovers and the Spiced winter fruit makes for a comforting end on a cold winters night.

3. Plas-Yn-Dre
The next restaurant serving stunning traditional Welsh food in North Wales is Plas-Yn-Dre, based in the Snowdonia National Park. This restaurant is furnished with soft leather chairs and the d├ęcor is a tasteful taste on a traditional country-kitchen. The menu is filled to the bream with traditional Welsh dishes and it makes the perfect lunch spot after a morning walking.

4. Hayloft Restaurant
The final restaurant to make our list is Hayloft Restaurant in Conwy. This restaurant is a set in a quiet estate surrounding and benefits from stunning mountain views. The menu is filled with produce grown on the estate that helps deliver a true taste of Wales. This restaurant is all about freshness with bread being baked daily, seafood being caught that morning and meat coming direct from the estate butchery.
